Role-Play Accounts

Kili (AU)
Nephew of Thorin Oakenshield, son of Dis and brother of Fili. He survived the Battle of the Five Armies and is now living in Erebor with his family, his Azyungâl, @Lyndheid and daughter, Linhildr (Linny). He has a fondness for nature and animals. Keeps a bouncy, trouble-some sheepdog called Fundin, a cheeky raven named Kari and a cantankerous war-sow named Heidi. He still retains his adventurous and care-free nature, but has grown in maturity since he set foot in Bag End. Much of his time is spent dedicated to his chosen craft of composing music. Donec aliquet condimentum orci, vel tincidunt velit suscipit non. Aliquam volutpat felis vel sapien elementum hendrerit. Pellentesque bibendum vulputate neque.]

Ori (Mainly Pre-Hobbit)
The youngest of three brothers, with Dori being the eldest and Nori the middle brother. A very awkward and shy dwarrow. He longs to be a scribe when he is older, but his dreams are hampered by poverty and Nori's thievery. Balin, taking pity and seeing potential in the lad, has taken him under his wing. He loves chips and hates green food, something which his family is often forced to eat because of poverty. (Head canon) He is the son of the dwarrowdam Skafid, and the wandering warrior-poet, Moidvithir, a son of the Blacklock dwarrow clan. Twitter Tumblr

Loni
Loni is the youngest son of the dwarven solider, Sindri and the dwarrowdam, Vrindr. He grew up in Ered Luin with his family and when he became of age, he followed in his father's footsteps and trained as a warrior. After the Battle of the Five Armies, he accompanied his brother, Andvari and the dwarrowdam blacksmith, Bild to Erebor, Once in Erebor, he joined the guard and worked in Kili's household. He proved himself to be a valuable asset and was eventually promoted to the captain of Kili's personal guard. He is loyal, brave and skilled in the use of a variety of weaponry and an excellent rider. Twitter Tumblr

Lofnheid
The youngest daughter of the dwarf smith and warrior, Hredimar and the healer, Svarri, and the youngest of five siblings. Sister of the dwarf maiden, @Lyndheid, mother of the dwarfling Nali, and wife of the apprentice dwarf smith, Andvari. She is the least adventurous of her siblings, and prefers to spend her time crafting jewellery, needlework and making fine furnishings. Under her care are the remaining sheepdogs that belonged to her mother, her favourite of which is the old sheepdog, Freki. Her parents and brothers Fafnir, Regin and Ottr reside in the halls of Mahal. Twitter Tumblr

Bild
The aunt of @Lyndheid and @Lofnheid, and sister of the blacksmith and warrior, Hredimar. Along with her brother, she was warrior under Lord Fundin's command at the Battle of Battle of Azanulbizar. Her parents died battling the dragon Smaug when he descended on Erebor. She and her brother were raised by their uncle, Hanar, who taught them both the craft of blacksmithing. Once the war had ended, she accompanied the king to live in Ered Luin, and lost touch with her brother. She dedicated her life to her craft of forging weapons and armour, and took no husband. Twitter Tumblr

Laddie (Semi-parody)
A slightly barmy, bouncy sheepdog, belonging to the dwarrowdam, @Lyndheid. He is very playful, curious and friendly and likes to follow scent trails left by other animals, especially wild ones, like foxes. He is one of the descendants of Lyndheid's mother's sheepdogs, which she trained as herders and to find lost people. He has inherited many of the traits from them. Of course, he considers that he 'owns' Lyndheid, and @Kili. He can only 'talk' to other animals, Ents, Ainur and Beornings, but not to humans, elves, hobbits and dwarves because they don't understand him. Twitter

I go back to a hobby I've spent a long time from because of problems on a particular forum. It was exciting. I felt really positive because it's something I've been wanting to get back into for ages. I decide that the old forum is not a place I want to go to post, so I look for others. I like seeing people's projects and I like sharing my ideas so I join it. Yep, I know it's run by someone from that forum but I want an active place to go. I want to see what people are doing now. Made a couple of posts of what I like to do and one regarding my current project. Nothing horrible or harassing in there. Three hours after I join, I find I can't log in and get a message from the admin. I have done nothing to this person - I kept out of most of the crap surrounding her on the original forum. So I don't know what her problem is.

Lately, I feel like I can't go anywhere online to share my interests anymore and pursue my hobbies because all I find are bullies. To be kicked out of a community for doing nothing is horrible. A great way of ruining my birthday. I've since deleted the links to her blog from mine. I'm going to cut ties with the original forum.

So, the BBC was the centre of a child abuse scandal for years, and now they are producing awful muslim propaganda programmes? I bet they must love protecting child abusers since there is/was a massive cover-up of abuse perpetrated by the muslim community in Rotherham.

Yet another reason why I'm glad I don't pay a TV license.

Please, go back to making programmes like James Herriot, Fawlty Towers and Monty Python.

An healthy fandom is more important than an active one. An healthy fandom is one where people co-operate, respect their opinions and beliefs even though they may differ, politeness, honesty and respecting how people role-play, write, etc. Is an healthy fandom also an active one? YES! But an active fandom is not always an healthy one - lewdness, bullying, ignorance and shunning people can happen in an active fandom. The sad thing is, an unhealthy fandom impacts even good players negatively because they become weary and tired of people's shit and end up becoming less sociable and if people become less sociable, then the fandom becomes poorer as a result.

I am wondering if I'm wasting my time on that site. Everyone's characters appear to be yucky anime ones that want to make me vomit, or boring real-world setting ones.

And why is it, people are always trying to get you to join other sites? I don't have time for everything. Doing what I'm doing is enough.

If you're going to do a character from the Silmarillion at least don't have your rp full of spelling and grammar mistakes, and why citizen? Keep Americanisms out of it, please!

Stuff I find boring in characters, because it's over-empathized in their character profiles - sexuality, tragic past, fighting skills, Japanese... every freaking character being 19 - 30. Please!

Blah.... I specifically said I didn't want a forum-style site, so what do I get? A forum style site. The text is too small. Too much info. Way too many boards and in all honesty, I'm only interested in the fandom my characters are in. Maybe they didn't understand what I was asking.

Blah. It's no secret that I don't find rp on Twitter fun anymore. It's either boredom because no one is around, or the negativity caused by others just won't go away. So, I look for another platform. All I want to find is a nice, social network kind of site which is usable, somewhere where I can get away from people who keep bothering me and that's flexible in its rules, but nope. I can't find one any where. The one I found tonight had everything I wanted, (accept a decent Tolkien community on there) but you can't have a multi-character account. I'm fed up of having to maintain several accounts and nearly all the features are there to make a multi-character account work, so what's the deal? I guess, in the end, the only reason why they won't allow that is because they want the site to appear like it has more members than it does. So that was a waste of an evening. Thank you...

Things that will make twitter better -
  • Bring back backgrounds
  • Ditch the moments and advertising
  • Allow people to block ip addresses and phone numbers, not just accounts. (I'm sure they can do it where the ip address is kept anonymous, but something needs to be done so that people can't keep making new accounts to stalk people.)
  • Bring back stars
  • Increase the character count.
  • Bring back proper pages to view conversations.
  • Tweets, retweets, quote tweets from people you've blocked or who've blocked you shouldn't appear anywhere on the site if you're logged in.
  • Restore the old method of replying to tweets and notifications. The new 'false' window thing is annoying.
  • If tweets go over the character account limit, automatically put the over-lap text into a new tweet so it works like twittrp.

I'm not really sure if I like these browser games where you have to spend a lot of money to get items. They don't appear to be good value to me and well, a bit pointless when you have to spend £8 to expand your zoo, etc. If the number of diamonds of things were less, or you got more diamonds for your money (or what ever the 'premium' currency in a game is) then I'd be more inclined to, but not now. Plus, I always have an aversion to spending money on something which isn't a physical object when it comes to recreational purposes. Seems daft.

To keep an account or close it, that's the question. Now, I normally feel that I can hang on to an account, even if things haven't been going well for it but in this case, I'm not sure if I want to keep it. It's not the character - I love the character, but I don't really like rping with the person I made it for.

They were very impatient with me the day I made the account, practically accusing me of messing them around when I was answering over due stuff on another account. Heck, I don't ignore people purposefully. If I was on the account and not talking to them but to others, then yeah, they would have a case, but I wasn't! Plus, I'd also had a bad headache that day and wanted to make the starter good.

Every time they DM me, they always give the impression that they think I'm going to bail on them. I hate that. It makes me not want to reply to the SL. In addition to that, they are never on the account and when they are, THEY don't reply. So, should I keep it? I could turn it to no ship and have it like my others. I don't know.

There was a time when TFL.ORG got back to you really quickly on stuff. That doesn't appear to happen now. It's been so long, I can't remember which FLs I've applied for and submitted to the site.

On this game I play, people are always trying to swap card pieces for common/easily obtained stuff for rare items. WHY? Why would people swap them? Swap like for like... and look at what items cost in the shop. If it's not something paid for with diamonds, or something which is on a very high level, people aren't going to want to swap it. And quit trying to exchange decoration pieces for animal pieces because no body really wants them.

Christ, I'm even getting gender politics showing up on my fan site's twitter feed now. NEWS FLASH: Women and girls have been coding fan sites ever since the internet moved from being an academic/military network into people's homes, schools, libraries, etc. Most of the fan sites that existed in the early days of the internet were designed, coded, owned and run by ladies.

Heck, even the Bella Buffs script I'm starting to use now was coded by a lady. We've been in code all along.

I just have to say these things because 'gender' inequality isn't as strident as some people would have you believe (and, from experience, if there is inequality, from what I've seen it comes from women themselves put on to other women.)

Feminists need to stop complaining about everything - Paganism and environmentalism is NOT the sole forte of men, quite the fucking opposite. And neither is the movement there to oppress you.

Feminist Oppression: The act of using feminism to bully, harass and oppress those they perceive to oppress women, when the people they say oppress women really aren't doing so and they take the position that EVERYTHING is to oppress women except, of course, the sex/porn industry which exists to empower women. (But ironically, the sex/porn industry creates a subservient mind-set in women which makes women believe that's the only valid career choice for them when it's one of exploitation.)
