We had a nice surprise last night when we went out with the dog. On the way back, we saw a badger. We think that is was one of the badgers that use the sett at the bottom of the garden and which also sometimes lives in the fox hole when the foxes aren't using it because it didn't seem to be too bothered by us until Jaffa started barking. Then he practically pulled me all the way home because ran off up the street to get to it's hole. It was great seeing it because in spite of the fact that we have badgers living on top of us, we hardly ever get to see them, unlike the foxes which on some occasions we've seen virtually every night. It is only the second time I have seen one alive. Usually when we see them, they've sadly been run over (or possibly dumped on the road side by badger diggers, which has been known to happen....)
